Back to Creiglow Home Welcome to Kuwait!

| This is Kuwait with Kuwait City in the background. The Gulf is really striking. During our first weekend off our new co-worker Moses showed us around Kuwait City. | Our new apartment was a bit of a surprise. The bathrooms were like living in an RV or an airplane. Keith bumped his head in the shower. Luckily this would not be our permanent home. |

| The CRC Gang: Keith and Leah, Joseph and Jeff, having breakfast at Johnny Rockets. Right downstairs from our apartments is a mall and Johnny Rockets is a 3 minute walk from our apartment door (including the elevator ride!). | There's a marina right across the street with it's own drive-up boat dock. |

| The tall building on the right is the brand new hotel just finished this year. The four buildings to the left is our apartment complex. We live on the top floor of the building second from the hotel. The water you see are the fountains of the Al Kout mall. In the evenings they have shows where the fountains are choreographed to music. A great place to eat dinner. Our movie theater is also in this mall - less than a 5 minute walk from our apartment. | In April there was a tennis tournament on post.
Although it was a singles tournament I did a lot better than I thought I
would. I ended up 2nd place - Keith was greatly disappointed because I
only lost due to lack of a killer instinct that day. Thanks to all of my
days playing singles with Kate in Germany, I felt very good about
my level of singles play. As soon as the weather cools off this fall I
am looking forward to more tennis on post.

| For Father's Day we went to see this big wooden boat. The Al Hashimi II was built in the 70's to be the biggest wooden boat in the world. After touring the boat we ate lunch at the best steakhouse ever: The Gaucho Grill. But be careful: it's the first place we've ever been where is you order medium rare it really comes that way. I now order medium to get pink in the middle. But it was absolutely an amazing place! | Keith and Joseph and I went to the Kuwait Scientific Center. They had 3-D Imax movies where we got to wear those cool glasses. And they had more wooden boats. Pearling was very big in Kuwaiti history. |

| Joseph in his Man-dress. Most of the Arabic men wear dresses instead of pants. Joseph loves the comfort of the man-dress he had custom-made. His is in the Egyptian style - the collar and buttons are not normal for Kuwaiti styles. | So many places we go feel just like Southern California. Walking out of the Scientific Center into the parking lot was one of those places. |
