A place to call HOME!

The front of our house. The window on the left end
is Amanda's room. The one directly above it is
Jeremiah's room. The window in the roof above
Jeremiah's room is where our bed is - right under that
window so we look at the stars (and the spectacular
lightning!)
It is a Doppelhaus-which means we share a
wall with our neighbors. The red roof is their
house. They are nice and will put up with our
drums until their son's bedtime.
We have a long and skinny driveway. I have a climbing rose bush in my pot on
the front porch.
The back of the house-you can see our
three balconies. Underneath the first balcony
is our music room/guest suite in the basement. The first
floor has our living/dining room, kitchen and
Amanda's bedroom.
The second level has the family room,
Jeremiah's bedroom and the laundry room.
The top floor is Mom and Dad's suite: bedroom,
bathroom and office. We are waiting for the builder
to come and put in our steps to the yard.
You can see our driveway, our minivan, and our lovely
German trashcans. The brown can has two compart:
ments: one for all biological stuff (I wrap it in newspaper)
and the other section for restmull (trash). The green can
is for all recyclable items. I never knew so many things
could be recycled! This can is the one always full.
Our yard is just barely a month old now and the grass
is more weeds than grass.
Our mailbox and front door. Here is a tip for
you about German mail service: they do not
pick up mail from your box -- they just deliver.
(I was a little embarrassed when I asked why
they ignored my outgoing mail!) You must look for
the yellow Deutsche Post boxes around town to
mail things.
This is a view from the front hall to the left side which is
our dining area. You can also see my huge gas grill
which I use 3-4 times a week! Our German friends
love our grill.
This is the right side for our living room. We have
ordered a very nice Natuzzi leather couch set in
dark blue - but it won't arrive until September. So
for now we have some inflatable furniture.
